Rooted in care

A living place for renewal, learning, and connection.

We imagine a sanctuary where people can slow down, deepen their relationship with the natural world, and learn alongside one another.

Moonroot Sanctum is a developing conservation and community project connecting people with land, spirit, and the living earth.

Its long-term vision is a small sanctuary for reflection, ecological stewardship, heritage skills, and shared community learning.

We believe restoration can begin with attention: to place, to one another, and to the wisdom carried through generations.

Gather, learn, restore

Ways we hope to meet the moment.

These are the beginnings of a vision. Each offering will grow in response to the land and the community around it.

Retreats & reflection

Intentionally small gatherings, planned for no more than 15 people, centered on rest, seasonal practice, mindful connection, and time close to nature.

Our guiding roots

Care is a practice we share.

Moonroot begins with a simple commitment: to create a place where reverence becomes relationship, and relationship becomes care.

Reciprocity with the land

We seek to learn from the living systems around us and give more care than we take.

Room for many paths

We welcome thoughtful, earth-honoring traditions and the people who practice them.

Knowledge shared generously

We honor practical wisdom, intergenerational learning, and making things together.

Stewardship over spectacle

We aim for a modest, grounded relationship with place and community.

A sense of place

Rooted in Kentucky. Open to the wider world.

We hope to build Moonroot in relationship with the landscapes and communities of Kentucky: conserving and restoring habitat, learning from regional traditions, and welcoming people who share a desire to live with care.

Moonroot is envisioned as a low-impact sanctuary, not a high-traffic venue.

The first roots are connection

Follow along as the vision takes shape.

Moonroot is at the beginning of its journey. If you’re drawn to land care, contemplative gathering, or shared learning, we’d love to keep you informed as the work develops.
